Who is Giselle?

We are all human that come from all walks of life. We all have at some point, or another have been faced with barriers, challenges, and some limitations. How we perceive these barriers, challenges, and limitations can further limit our functionality in life. As a someone who has survived barriers, challenges, and limitations, I have gained the desire to empower, and inspire people find their way in their journey of life.

I have a great passion for helping people in many areas. Currently, I am an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and survivors of sexual abuse in criminal justice system of all ages. With my experience, we can work together to overcome any barriers and obstacles that have made its way into your life. My goal during our interaction is to provide a judgment free safe space for you to express yourself and provide a solution-focused experience.

I was born and raised in New York City. I graduated with an associate degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2005. I then made the transition to Florida. I initially wanted to become an attorney to help people. While working as a paralegal, I realized that I am not helping people the way I wanted to. I then became a Victim Advocate in the Criminal Justice System where I became more hands on while knowledgeable about the law and resources in the community. Although I am more hands on while helping people, I would like to help people more closely.

In 2020, I graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. My passion for helping those who endured trauma has influenced me to proceed with obtaining a master’s degree in clinical social work. With obtaining this degree, I am enabled to come from a strength-based/solution-focused lens and empower with support for those who need it.

When I am not in school, I enjoy learning, reading, writing, teaching Spanish to my children, and spending time with family.

Thank you in advance for entrusting me with your journey and I look forward to working together to help you thrive.
