Who is Nevedha?

Hello and welcome! My main goal as a therapist is to help empower you to feel like you can cope with the day to day as well as the life-changing challenges of life and discover functional living with mental illness. With me you will be able to identify your strengths, process emotions and improve your overall wellbeing and health. I utilize a variety of modalities including emotion-focused, solution focused, Gottman method, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and more. These are all methods I use to help you find a sense of security in yourself and stability in your relationships as well as skills to cope with distress.

I also focus on helping women and nonbinary individuals come to terms with their identity, find love for their bodies, balance work, family and social lives and blossom into their full potential. I help lgbtq+ individuals understand themselves, learn to communicate, navigate dysphoria and possible internalized shame and guilt from stigma and their identity. I help couples navigate relationship issues, struggles with infidelity, trust issues, bonding exercises, financial constraints, parenting conflicts, and more. I specialize in working with mothers as well and their struggles with everything from identity, post partum depression, attachment to their children to coping with an empty nest. I have worked with personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and related disorders, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, non-monogamous couples, sex positivity, and more.

I obtained my bachelor’s degrees in psychology and social work and my master’s degree in social work from the University of South Florida, and soon after became registered as a Provisionally Licensed Clinical Social Worker (registered intern) I enjoy spending time with my daughter and traveling for fun. I also love fantasy and sci-fi as well as thrifting for a good find! I know that together we can help ease the stress in your life and create meaning in your life. Like I love to say, “you may not be able to control what happened yesterday, but tomorrow can be a new beginning full of hope and opportunity.” I hope to hear from you soon!
