Hello, and welcome to therapy!

I am honored to walk alongside you as you embark on a new journey of self-discovery and healing.

Whatever your need may be, I want to assure you that I will do my best to create a safe space for you to explore who you are and claim your own innate wisdom. I see myself as a guide, helping, as YOU create your own unique path to wholeness, drawing from your cultural background and individual strengths. I believe that you already have everything inside of you that you need to feel better and to have greater peace. However, sometimes there are major life events, stressors, and trauma that can pull us away from our connection with ourselves and others, and we need support and tools to navigate back to shore. That is why I applaud you for letting me support this process, so you don’t have to walk it alone.

My intention first and foremost, will be to do my best to help you feel seen and heard. I do this by giving you my full attention, by asking questions and clarifying your messages, and by validating your emotions and your experiences. The therapeutic relationship is very important to me, as I believe that trust is one of the most critical aspects of treatment. Additionally, I want to collaborate with you to create goals that you feel are most important to you and to provide you with practical tools to help you get there.

My favorite metaphor of therapy is seeing it as a process of cleaning out a deep wound. There are many ways we become wounded. Some deeper than others. But, when a wound is deep enough, avoiding it or patching it with bandages so it is unseen, will likely lead to a worse outcome. To help a wound heal takes courage and vulnerability. Cleaning out a deep wound can feel uncomfortable and even painful at times. Over time though, with enough care and intention, the wound will heal.
